Frequently asked questions.
Yes, you can use Skouta on a free plan. The core alerts feed — police, weather, transport, traffic and civil emergencies — is free and always will be. Skouta Premium adds personalization: multiple saved locations, filtered notifications and the Daily Digest. Every new user starts with 14 days of Premium, no card needed and no strings attached.
No, we don't track your location. Skouta only uses the city or address you select to show your alerts in that area. Live location isn't currently a feature in Skouta. If we ever decide to implement it, activating it will require your clear consent.
Every alert comes directly from an official Swedish authority: Swedish police, the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute, Trafikverket, Stockholm Länstrafik, the Swedish Civil Defense and Resilience Agency and others. Every alert mentions the original Swedish-language source so you can check it yourself.
Translations are provided by DeepL AI, the best-rated translation service for European languages and Nordic languages in particular. Reports claim a 95% accuracy for most content types. We also maintain a glossary of terms to keep recurring phrases consistent. Every alert mentions our use of AI translations, for transparency. If you notice errors in translations, please share your findings with us at team@skouta.app.
Yes, you can set custom notifications by category on Skouta Premium — so you only hear about what matters to you. On Skouta Free, you only receive critical notifications for your chosen city or address. Either way, you'll never be notified about anything outside the categories Skouta covers.
Skouta Free gives you the full alerts feed for one city — every category, always free. With Skouta Premium you can track up to 5 locations, use filtered notifications, and get your custom Daily Digest every morning.
Yes. You can cancel anytime in your App Store subscription settings. If you cancel, you're automatically switched to Skouta Free, so you can still access the alerts feed for 1 location.
No — for emergencies, always call 112.

Skouta is for informational purposes only: it tells you what's already been reported so you can plan your actions accordingly. If an alert describes an active danger near you, follow official guidance.
